The role involves deploying, configuring, automating, and managing cloud-based infrastructure using tools like Kubernetes, Terraform, and Argo.
Responsibilities include identifying and resolving system bottlenecks, designing and managing deployment pipelines, and maintaining comprehensive monitoring and observability systems using Datadog and Sentry.
The engineer will define Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs) to measure reliability and performance.
The position requires designing and implementing automated solutions to reduce manual operational tasks and building tools for system provisioning, monitoring, deployment, and scaling.
Collaboration with engineering teams to improve application reliability, resilience, and maturity is essential.
Requirements:
Candidates must have a strong understanding of cloud architecture, including expertise with major cloud providers such as GCP, AWS, and Azure.
A solid understanding of networking and security considerations when developing deployment environments is required.
Applicants should have a strong understanding of Relational Databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and be comfortable optimizing and advising on optimization techniques.
Knowledge of authentication and authorization principles such as IAM, Security Groups, and RBAC is necessary.
A background in software engineering fundamentals, practices, and patterns with distributed cloud services is expected.
Strong experience with production systems troubleshooting and optimization is required.
Candidates should have experience with Kubernetes and be able to demonstrate deployments they have architected or managed.
A strong understanding of the operating model of Kubernetes and the requirements for designing deployments for new applications is essential.
Experience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation is required.

The position offers a salary range of $68,000 - $80,000 USD, with adjustments for candidates outside the U.S. based on local market conditions.
