Oura is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join their SRE Squad, responsible for governance and observability of the Oura AWS infrastructure.
The role involves maintaining and developing Oura’s AWS infrastructure and related services.
Responsibilities include building tooling, observability, and fault tolerance into the cloud platform, as well as developing infrastructure as code and migrating services to shared good practices.
The engineer will build deployment and dependency management systems to ensure efficient testing and code release.
The position requires building a team and culture of operational excellence while maintaining service level agreements (SLAs).
The engineer will ensure compliance with the latest security and compliance regulations and participate in on-call duty.
This is a remote U.S. role, preferably for candidates on the East Coast, with options for hybrid or office settings in San Francisco and San Diego.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 5+ years of backend development experience.
Experience in architecting and building data-intensive distributed systems in production environments is required, along with the ability to apply appropriate architectural patterns.
A pragmatic can-do attitude and a delivery-focused mindset are essential, with the ability to balance short-term goals and long-term technical debt.
Candidates should be able to design for scale and growth, preparing for user demand peaks and building fault-tolerant and secure systems.
Experience in the healthcare business and supporting large enterprises is considered an asset.
Candidates must have built robust deployment pipelines and have experience with related tools; experience with GitHub Actions is a bonus.
Strong experience in running, monitoring, and debugging production systems at scale on AWS is required, including familiarity with key AWS services like EKS, RDS, S3, SQS, Kinesis, Lambda, and DynamoDB.
Experience in building production systems on serverless architecture is necessary.
Candidates should have experience running and orchestrating containers in AWS using tools like ECS, Fargate, or EKS.
Proficiency in configuring and managing Kubernetes resources, including pods, services, deployments, and namespaces, is required.
Solid programming skills in languages such as JavaScript or Python are necessary.
A good understanding of database management is appreciated, though not required.
