SSENSE is looking for a Senior Developer to join their technology team, specifically the pricing team responsible for the development and maintenance of internal pricing and markdown engines.
The Senior Developer will break down complex features of the product roadmap into required technical components and develop them independently.
This role involves owning at least one component of the SSENSE technical stack and being accountable for its Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
The ideal candidate will actively contribute to knowledge dissemination within the organization.
Responsibilities include understanding the product roadmap, contributing to development planning and estimations, and independently completing complex coding tasks to deliver features.
The candidate will write high-quality, testable, and reusable code, adhere to development standards, and ensure code is suitable for continuous integration and deployment.
The role requires taking responsibility for code quality through testing and ensuring the performance, reliability, scalability, and resilience of assigned technical components.
The Senior Developer will actively review code to guide junior developers, contribute to internal learning platforms, and participate in cross-squad initiatives.
The candidate will contribute to solution designs, explain technical concepts, and assist in recruiting top development talent.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of software development experience is required, with the ability to code complex features using Python and Typescript/NodeJS.
Experience with microservices, containers (Kubernetes), event-driven architecture, and distributed databases (PostgreSQL, NoSQL at scale) is necessary.
Proficiency with cloud resources (AWS/Google Cloud/Azure) is required, and certification would be an asset.
Strong knowledge of caching technologies (Fastly, Redis, Varnish) is needed, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement.
Proficiency in Git and familiarity with Domain Driven Design are required.
French language proficiency is required as it is the language in the Quebec province.
