The Senior Software Engineer will join a team working with the Department of Veterans Affairs to enhance digital tools for Veterans managing their benefits.
Responsibilities include improving clarity of evidence requests, expanding claim status visibility, modernizing back-end systems, and increasing accessibility and usability for decision notifications and appeals.
The role requires working across the tech stack using both front and back end languages and frameworks.

This is a Key Personnel role, essential to work performance, subject to government review and approval.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, with expertise in complex architectures across multiple products and business domains.
Deep experience with multiple programming languages and automated testing tools is required.
Experience with AI tools and services to enhance software delivery is necessary.
Candidates should thrive in Agile environments and demonstrate a focus on team success.
Self-organization and ownership of work are essential.
A bias to action and pragmatic decision-making skills are required.
Candidates must have lived and worked in the U.S. for 3 out of the last 5 years.
Some travel may be required, and candidates should be open to discussing this during the interview.
