Description:

  • UpDoc is building the world's first clinically validated, physician-supervised conversational agent that manages chronic diseases.
  • The position is for a Senior Software Engineer, AI, primarily working on UpDoc’s patient-facing conversational agent.
  • This is a fully remote position.
  • The engineer will lead the development of the conversational agent and implement a scalable, low-latency system for voice/multimodal conversations.
  • Responsibilities include implementing rigorous prompt engineering processes, developing metrics for system evaluation, and creating data pipelines for fast experimentation.
  • The role involves collaborating with other backend engineers to deploy AI models and chat/voice APIs, as well as working with clinical experts to validate performance and medical accuracy.
  • The engineer will also develop backend services using FastAPI and Pydantic.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5+ years of professional software development experience, including 2+ years of backend web development experience.
  • Proficiency in type-hinted, modern Python is required.
  • Candidates should have 2+ years of experience building end-to-end LLM applications, either personally or professionally.
  • Experience integrating and optimizing LLMs in production environments is necessary.
  • Knowledge of evaluation frameworks and MLOps/LLMOps best practices is required.
  • Experience building AI infrastructure from 0 to 1 is essential.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially Azure, and containerization technologies is required.
