Description:

• The Affirm Card Engineering team is seeking a passionate Senior Software Engineer to build tools and systems for managing money movement, bank data integration, and merchant data.
• Affirm Card combines the functionality of a debit card with access to Affirm's buy now pay later financing options.
• The role requires a high level of technical capability, strong cross-functional communication, and a creative mindset to ensure the money movement system is correct, scalable, and extensible.

• Responsibilities include driving project planning and prioritization, collaborating with various teams, building APIs and data models, and mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 4+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• A strong understanding of distributed systems and the impact of architectural decisions on performance and maintainability is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, with proficiency in asynchronous communication methods.
• Strong project management skills, including organization and the ability to surface critical information effectively, are necessary.
• Experience working with multi-functional teams, including Product, Design, Analytics, and Business teams, is important.
• Python/Kotlin development experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with AWS and/or other cloud providers is advantageous.
• A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience is required.
