Description:
Hopper’s Hotel Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) team integrates proprietary fintech offerings with major travel companies and direct customer services.

The Senior Backend Developer will have a significant impact on one of the company's critical roadmaps.
Responsibilities include designing, implementing, deploying, and operating complex backend systems for integrations.
Daily tasks involve iterating on features using Scala and technologies like GCP, OpenAPI, BigQuery, and Pub/Sub.
The role requires making architectural decisions within a microservices context and collaborating with diverse teams.
Requirements:
Candidates must bring leading industry techniques and technologies to the role.
A strong understanding of distributed systems and the impact of architectural decisions on performance and maintainability is essential.
Experience working in cross-functional teams with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Frontend Engineers is required.
A focus on quality and the ability to write testable, scalable code is necessary.
Candidates should be able to work independently, handle uncertainty, and adapt to quickly evolving goals.
Prior cloud experience is required, along with familiarity with Scala and its libraries.
Experience in travel or eCommerce is preferred.
