Remote Senior Software Engineer - Core Infrastructure (remote across ANZ)

Description:

• The position is remote across Australia and New Zealand, with the flagship campus located in Sydney and additional campuses in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide.
• The role involves building impactful features, such as designing and developing functionality for cloud cost insights and automated cost anomaly detection.
• You will drive product development by leading discussions, scoping solutions, and supporting product teams with real-time cost-related answers.
• The role includes architecting for efficiency by partnering with engineering teams to improve cloud architecture with cost optimization in mind.
• You will scale the internal FinOps platform by fine-tuning performance and ensuring uptime.
• Championing a FinOps culture is essential, inspiring others to adopt cost-informed decision-making.
• You will be part of the Cloud FinOps team, which promotes a cost-aware culture and maximizes the value of cloud spending.

Requirements:

• You must be proficient in Golang or Python and eager to learn the other language.
• Strong foundational knowledge of computer engineering principles is required.
• Extensive experience with cloud services, particularly AWS, including EKS, EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, and S3.
• You should have experience designing scalable, secure, and cost-conscious cloud architecture.
• Fluency in infrastructure-as-code is necessary, with a preference for Terraform experience.
• You must take ownership of your goals, whether working independently or as part of a team.
• The ability to mentor and improve collaboration within the team is essential.
• A curious and collaborative mindset is required, with a passion for solving challenges creatively.
