  • The Data engineering team at Chime is focused on building a scalable data platform essential for the company's success.
  • As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build scalable data pipelines and frameworks.
  • You will have the opportunity to architect and create workflows that may set industry standards in fintech.
  • Responsibilities include being a hands-on data engineer, building, scaling, and optimizing ETL pipelines.
  • You will design data warehouse schemas and scale processes to accommodate 10x data growth.
  • You will take ownership of data quality, governance, schema design, and security.
  • You will manage the schema registry and dependency chart for persistent data.
  • You will ensure ETL workflows meet data quality and availability requirements.
  • Collaboration with partner teams such as Data Science, Analytics, and DevOps is expected.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience transforming data into governed and clear datasets is required.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in building and deploying production-quality data pipelines is necessary.
  • You should have 5 years of experience working with stakeholders to provide business insights.
  • Proficiency in writing Spark, AWS Glue, EMR, Airflow, and Python for at least 5 years is required.
  • You must have 3 years of hands-on experience with any MPP database system like Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Teradata.
  • A proven track record of successful partnerships with Analytics, Data Science, and DevOps teams is essential.
  • You should understand key metrics for data pipelines and have built solutions to provide visibility to partner teams.

  • The base salary for this role starts at $176,490 and can go up to $245,100, depending on location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
