Remote Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform

Description:

• Bayesian Health is a rapidly growing startup focused on making healthcare proactive by providing real-time data to healthcare professionals.
• The Senior Software Engineer, Data Platform will lead the development of data infrastructure, pipelines, and tools to support research and real-time applications, contributing to the growth of clinical AI/ML offerings and revenue.
• The role involves building a robust data infrastructure for storing large volumes of data and supporting complex queries for production applications, research, and analytics.
• Responsibilities include designing and deploying reliable data pipelines that integrate with electronic health records (EHR) systems using FHIR and HL7, ensuring data security and privacy, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful technology.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant technical discipline is required.
• Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in building and maintaining highly scalable and reliable production data systems on a cloud platform, preferably AWS.
• Deep knowledge of modern data platform technologies, including cloud-based data storage, real-time streaming, batch processing, transformation frameworks (e.g., dbt), and workflow orchestration tools is essential.
• Proficiency in Python is required.
• Experience working with sensitive data that includes PHI/PII is necessary.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions are required.
