Remote Senior Software Engineer - Developer Experience

• ConductorOne is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Developer Experience (DevEx) to lead the technical strategy for enabling developers to build against their platform confidently and easily.
• The role involves working in a fast-paced, agile environment and collaborating across engineering teams to advocate for developer-first API design and robust integration experiences.
• Responsibilities include owning Developer Experience technical leadership, defining standards and best practices for API design, SDK maintenance, and integration development.
• The engineer will drive API reliability initiatives by building tools, tests, and processes to prevent breaking changes and ensure robust API shipping.
• The position requires maintaining and enhancing the SDK ecosystem across multiple languages (TypeScript, Python, Go) using Speakeasy and other generation tools.
• Leading Terraform Provider development, fixing bugs, adding features, and ensuring seamless infrastructure-as-code experiences for users is also part of the role.
• The engineer will evaluate and implement DevEx tooling to improve external developer experience and support internal team growth.
• Championing testing excellence across engineering teams and establishing best practices for API and integration testing is essential.
• The role includes facilitating community engagement by managing GitHub submissions and maintaining communication with the developer community.
• Creating compelling technical content such as documentation, blog posts, sample integrations, and tutorials is required to help external developers succeed on the ConductorOne platform.
• The engineer will build new platform integrations and provide feedback on extensibility features to meet the evolving needs of the developer ecosystem.
• Coaching and evangelizing API design principles to help teams understand robust API development is also a key responsibility.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be skilled software engineers with a deep passion for developer experience, API design, and enabling others to build software with cutting-edge technologies.
• Expertise in modern DevEx tooling, including SDK generators (Speakeasy or similar), API testing frameworks, documentation tools, and CI/CD integration for developer-facing products is required.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment with dynamic prioritization and balance internal team needs with external developer requirements is essential.
• Candidates should be able to translate vague developer pain points into concrete technical solutions and actionable improvements.
• A pragmatic approach to API design and developer tooling, with a bias toward action and delivering high-quality solutions incrementally, is necessary.
• Strong communication and teaching skills are required, with enthusiasm for evangelizing best practices in robust API development.
