  • Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining software for autonomous satellite operations, health monitoring, and real-time tasking.
  • The engineer will create services that integrate with ground stations and satellite communication protocols.
  • Building cloud-native microservices for scheduling, telemetry, and control logic is a key part of the job.
  • Collaboration with systems, operations, flight, and mission planning teams to refine technical requirements is expected.
  • The engineer will write clean, testable, safety-conscious code while adhering to modern development practices.
  • Participation in technical design reviews, code reviews, and sprint planning is required.
  • The role includes contributing to the launch and early operations of newly deployed satellites.
  • The engineer will join on-call rotations to support real-time incident response and system troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of professional software development experience is necessary.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, or C++ is required.
  • Solid experience with cloud infrastructure and microservices (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is essential.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools, automated testing frameworks, and Git-based workflows is needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to understand end-to-end complex systems are required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills within multi-disciplinary teams are necessary.
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens to comply with government regulations.

  • The position offers a competitive salary range of $135,000–$155,000 in the Seattle, WA area, which may vary by location and experience.
