The Monetization Platform team is central to Confluent’s business strategy, tasked with building a robust monetization platform that supports flexible pricing, payments, and on-demand bill generation for Confluent Cloud.
The role involves developing accurate, reliable, and scalable systems in the cloud to facilitate usage-based billing and pricing, which is essential for Confluent's revenue across all products and markets.
The position requires collaboration with Product Managers and various engineering and business teams to drive business-critical projects from ideation to completion.
Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 8 years of relevant experience in software engineering.
Experience in architecting, designing, and developing highly scalable and performant backend services is essential.
Proficiency in a major programming language such as Go, Java, or C/C++ is required.
Familiarity with Kubernetes and public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, and Azure is necessary.
Knowledge of Kafka, streaming technologies, and SaaS platform development is preferred.
A deep understanding of designing distributed systems in the cloud is crucial.
Experience in managing production services in public clouds with a focus on quality and operational excellence is required.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail are essential.
Candidates should be strategic thinkers who continuously seek operational improvements to meet service availability and performance SLAs.
Comfort with troubleshooting technical issues across services and multi-level technical stacks, including microservices and containers, is necessary.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience, is required.
