The company is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to scale its next-gen consumer finance platform to millions of users.
The role involves working with a stack of Java microservices in Google Cloud to enhance payment reliability, speed, tracing, and reconciliation.
The team has two main goals: to build and support payment rails and to scale bank connectivity for underwriting.
The position offers significant autonomy and ownership, allowing for meaningful input in the company's technology and product direction.
Recent team accomplishments include building a Payments API platform, implementing advanced risk algorithms, optimizing database schemas, and enhancing user notification capabilities.
The role includes reinventing APIs, supporting engineers, optimizing queries, implementing algorithms, integrating with third-party APIs, and improving customer service processes.
This is a full-time position based in Brigit’s New York office, with the option to work remotely 2-3 times per week.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 6+ years of industry experience in Java.
Experience in the US financial tech space, particularly with ACH and Card money movement, is required.
Familiarity with bank aggregators such as Plaid is a plus.
Candidates should have experience in REST-based services and API development.
Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, or other container systems is a plus.
Experience with Google Cloud Platform is also a plus.
Candidates must be self-starters, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Proficiency in SQL, particularly with Postgres, and experience in designing and migrating schemas is required.
Experience in leading teams or mentoring junior engineers is a plus.
