As a Senior Software Engineer at Astronomer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation and deployment of the flagship enterprise product.
The R&D team is dedicated to providing an exceptional experience in managing Apache Airflow at scale.
The platform team is responsible for maintaining and developing API services, authentication, authorization, logging, observability, and alerting frameworks, as well as common UI components.
Your contributions will directly impact the ability to scale and deliver exceptional value to customers.
The work location for this role is in Hyderabad.
Requirements:
You must have 8+ years of overall software engineering experience, including experience in mentoring junior engineers.
Proven experience deploying, managing, and scaling applications in either Node.js, Golang, or Python on a Kubernetes production environment is required.
Experience in writing front-end applications in React.js is necessary.
You should have experience with SQL databases such as Postgres or MySQL.
A solid understanding of CI/CD tools like CircleCI and experience integrating them in a Kubernetes environment on any of the major cloud providers is essential.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to find a middle ground.
Experience communicating technical concepts through the use of architectural diagrams is necessary.
A strong understanding of microservices architecture, containerization, and cloud-native application development is required.
You must be able to write and maintain documentation around key systems and processes.
Participation in an on-call rotation with some of the largest customers is expected.
You should be able to perform root cause analysis during incidents and document results in the form of post-mortems.
