Remote Senior Software Engineer (Python).

Description:

• The role is for a Senior Backend Engineer to contribute to new product efforts in fintech and payments.
• The technology stack includes Django, Angular, Postgres, and AWS, with a strong emphasis on Django expertise.
• Responsibilities include discussing, planning, building, and testing new features, collaborating with various stakeholders, developing integrations with 3rd party APIs, triaging and fixing bugs, managing code reviews, migrating modules into micro-services, and working on product features that affect tens of thousands of customers.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of professional experience working on web applications using modern software engineering processes.
• Proficiency in Python and Django is required.
• Experience in debugging complex database performance issues is necessary.
• Candidates should think critically about their work and ask questions to improve the product.
• Experience in building performant and scalable backends and making pragmatic tradeoffs is essential.
• Strong communication skills are required to explain complex technical topics clearly to the team.
• Candidates should be proactive in diagnosing and fixing core issues when problems arise.
• Experience working in an early-stage startup is a significant plus.
• Fluency in both written and spoken English is mandatory.
