PayNearMe is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Core Applications team in a remote capacity.
The role involves designing, developing, and optimizing the platform that processes billions of dollars in payments.
Responsibilities include owning and enhancing critical components of Ruby on Rails applications, ensuring high performance, security, and scalability.
The engineer will architect and implement modular, maintainable, and well-tested code for the payments platform.

Requirements:
Candidates must have 7+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in Ruby on Rails.
Proven success in working with large, complex codebases and effectively communicating about code decisions is required.
Strong decision-making skills are necessary, with the ability to balance business needs, technical excellence, and engineering velocity.
Experience in modularizing applications and solving high-performance scalability challenges is essential.
A solid understanding of software design patterns and architectural best practices is required.

Nice to have qualifications include experience with payment processing systems or fintech platforms, familiarity with modern DevOps practices, and experience implementing Google Analytics or similar platforms.
Benefits:
The position offers a base salary paid semi-monthly, ranging from $175,000 to $200,000 per year.
