Responsibilities include designing and building backend systems for financial automation workflows, translating business and compliance requirements into secure engineering solutions, and owning the design and implementation of distributed systems and internal APIs.

Requirements:
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience as a Senior Backend Engineer, particularly in fintech, payments, banking, or compliance-sensitive domains.
Strong capabilities in backend architecture and system design are required, along with the ability to simplify complex requirements into scalable solutions.
Comfort working in cloud-native environments, ideally AWS, is necessary.
Proficiency in one or more modern backend languages such as Ruby, Go, Java, Node, or Python is required, with Ruby experience being a plus.
An ownership mindset and confidence in debugging and maintaining systems in production are essential.
Clear communication and async collaboration skills are needed, especially for working across distributed teams and time zones.
Nice to have: experience with payroll systems, payment gateways, or integrations with financial institutions; familiarity with security standards, AML/KYC practices; and experience launching greenfield products or being an early engineer in a new team.
