9th Way Insignia is seeking a Senior Software/System Architect to support the Consolidated Corporate Support Services (CCSS) 2.0 contract for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The Database Architect will be responsible for designing and modeling data structures to support enterprise financial and administrative systems.
This role focuses on ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient database architectures that align with VA operational and modernization goals.
Responsibilities include designing and documenting system architecture aligned with business goals and technical requirements.
The architect will lead the development of high-level and detailed architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and integration patterns.
They will guide software development teams in implementing scalable and maintainable systems.
The role requires ensuring architectural solutions meet federal security, accessibility (Section 508), and performance standards.
Collaboration with stakeholders to gather system requirements and propose optimized solutions is essential.
The architect will conduct design reviews and recommend improvements across platforms and applications.
Support for DevSecOps integration, data interoperability, and cloud-native architecture planning is expected.
Monitoring system performance and providing recommendations for optimization and modernization is part of the role.
Participation in the Agile development lifecycle and contribution to technology roadmap planning is required.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
A minimum of 5 years of related professional experience is necessary.
8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
Preferred qualifications include experience leading architecture for large-scale federal IT systems.
Knowledge of cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices design is desired.
Proficiency with enterprise architecture tools and modeling standards (e.g., TOGAF, UML) is preferred.
A strong understanding of system security, compliance, and accessibility requirements is essential.
