Description:

  • 9th Way Insignia is seeking a Senior Software/System Architect to support the Consolidated Corporate Support Services (CCSS) 2.0 contract for the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • The Database Architect will be responsible for designing and modeling data structures to support enterprise financial and administrative systems.
  • This role focuses on ensuring scalable, secure, and efficient database architectures that align with VA operational and modernization goals.
  • Responsibilities include designing and documenting system architecture aligned with business goals and technical requirements.
  • The architect will lead the development of high-level and detailed architecture diagrams, interface specifications, and integration patterns.
  • They will guide software development teams in implementing scalable and maintainable systems.
  • The role requires ensuring architectural solutions meet federal security, accessibility (Section 508), and performance standards.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to gather system requirements and propose optimized solutions is essential.
  • The architect will conduct design reviews and recommend improvements across platforms and applications.
  • Support for DevSecOps integration, data interoperability, and cloud-native architecture planning is expected.
  • Monitoring system performance and providing recommendations for optimization and modernization is part of the role.
  • Participation in the Agile development lifecycle and contribution to technology roadmap planning is required.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related professional experience is necessary.
  • 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
  • Preferred qualifications include experience leading architecture for large-scale federal IT systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud architectures (e.g., AWS, Azure) and microservices design is desired.
  • Proficiency with enterprise architecture tools and modeling standards (e.g., TOGAF, UML) is preferred.
  • A strong understanding of system security, compliance, and accessibility requirements is essential.
