The Senior Solutions Architect – Implementations is a hands-on, customer-facing role responsible for designing scalable, standards-aligned healthcare data solutions using Smile Digital Health’s platform.
This position involves partnering closely with enterprise clients during discovery and early design phases, often when requirements are incomplete, to guide them toward the right architecture.
Success in this role requires the ability to ask the right questions, help customers uncover unknowns, and shape practical, future-proof solutions based on best practices and regulatory frameworks.
The role includes maintaining architectural oversight throughout the implementation and post-go-live phases, ensuring the solution continues to work as expected and adjusting designs as needed.
Responsibilities include leading architectural design, providing ongoing technical guidance, evaluating customer-specific requirements, collaborating with internal teams, and contributing to internal architecture review boards and documentation.
The position requires active participation in customer-facing meetings and accurate tracking of time and project management artifacts.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in software engineering, technical consulting, or solution architecture roles, ideally with hands-on experience in complex healthcare implementations.
Proven ability to lead customer-facing architecture and design discussions, particularly with payer, provider, or government-aligned healthcare organizations is required.
Demonstrated experience in designing solutions involving real-time data ingestion technologies such as Kafka, Camel, and Pulsar, as well as implementing FHIR-based data workflows is essential.
A strong understanding of clinical data modeling and terminology mapping, including SNOMED CT, RxNorm, and LOINC, is necessary.
Experience with cloud-native architecture and deployment in AWS, Azure, or GCP using Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes is required.
Candidates should be skilled in identifying technical trade-offs and adapting solution designs in response to new constraints during delivery.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary, along with strong interpersonal and collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
Comfort in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with evolving requirements and shifting priorities is essential.
Proficiency with solution diagramming and design tools such as Lucidchart is required.
