Invisible Technologies is seeking a Senior Staff Backend Engineer with prior AI/ML experience, particularly in leveraging generative AI for production-ready applications.
The role involves acting as a technical lead for a product area or scrum team, shaping technical architecture, and guiding engineering execution.
The engineer will work with a modern backend stack that includes Python, Django, Postgres, GCP, and Docker/Kubernetes.
Responsibilities include leading the design and development of scalable backend systems for AI-powered applications, architecting and optimizing APIs and workflow systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable systems.
The engineer will ensure best practices in modular architecture, security, observability, and operational excellence, while also mentoring within the engineering team.
Requirements:
Candidates must have extensive Python programming experience.
Recent experience in building tools and applications using GenAI frameworks (OpenAI or others) is required, either in professional roles or advanced side projects.
Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP, is necessary.
Deep expertise in container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is essential.
Mastery of workflow systems, event-driven architectures, and API development is required.
Proficiency in modular software architecture and best practices for scalable system design is needed.
Candidates should have experience designing and managing enterprise software systems with a focus on security, observability, and operations.
Extensive use of version control systems, particularly Git, is required.
Strong documentation skills for design specifications and implementation details are necessary.
Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience with Django, Postgres, Doppler, Backstage, and observability tools like Datadog and Sentry is a plus.
