The Senior/Staff Backend Engineer will build and ship features for North, Cohere's AI workspace platform.
Responsibilities include developing autonomous agents that interact with sensitive enterprise data and writing minimal code for low-resource environments with stringent deployment mechanisms.
The role requires collaboration with researchers to productionize state-of-the-art models and techniques.
Requirements:
Candidates must have extensive experience shipping Python in production.
Experience in building and deploying highly performant client-side or server-side RAG/agentic applications to millions of users is essential.
Strong coding abilities are required, with comfort in working across the stack and the ability to read, understand, and fix issues outside the main code base.
Experience in both large enterprises and startups is preferred.
Candidates should excel in fast-paced environments and be able to execute while priorities and objectives are changing.
