The Senior/Staff Data Engineer will report to the Head of Data and work closely with Data Science, Product, and Engineering teams.
The role involves improving and transforming VRChat's data capabilities and maintaining and optimizing the data infrastructure and analytics stack.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing data solutions, collaborating cross-functionally, managing data warehousing solutions, developing ETL pipelines, implementing data orchestration tools, integrating diverse data sources, ensuring infrastructure scalability, and maintaining data privacy and security.
This position is fully remote.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 6+ years of experience in data engineering and data modeling.
Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to work autonomously to resolve problems are essential.
Proficiency in SQL and Python for data pipeline development is required.
Deep experience with data warehousing concepts and Snowflake is necessary.
Familiarity with MongoDB and SQL databases (e.g., Postgres, MySQL) is expected.
Extensive experience with AWS or other cloud services is required.
Advanced expertise with data orchestration tools like Dagster or Apache Airflow is necessary.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams is required.
