This position is for a Senior Staff Software Engineer, IUM, at Aspire Software, and is remote within the United States.
The role focuses on modernizing and scaling an Identity & User Management (IUM) platform.
Responsibilities include driving architectural vision, overseeing large-scale migrations, and ensuring robust, secure, and high-performance access management across the product ecosystem.
The engineer will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and cross-functional teams to influence technical and strategic decisions.
Mentoring peers and shaping engineering culture is a key aspect of this position.

Requirements:
Candidates must have 15+ years of professional software engineering experience, including 8+ years in Identity & Access Management (IAM) or related domains.
Deep expertise in authentication, authorization, RBAC, role & permission modeling, and industry standards/protocols such as OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SAML, and SCIM is required.
Proven experience leading large-scale migrations or architectural overhauls from legacy systems is essential.
Strong proficiency in backend languages such as Java, C#, Go, or Node.js, along with associated frameworks, is necessary.
Experience with distributed systems, high-availability architectures, and performance optimization is required.
Excellent communication and storytelling skills are needed to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Candidates should have experience influencing architectural direction and achieving consensus across teams.
Familiarity with cloud-native identity services (AWS Cognito, Azure AD, Okta, Auth0) and zero-trust architectures is preferred.
A background in building multi-tenant SaaS identity systems and mentoring senior engineers is advantageous.
