The Perception team is seeking a lead to build and deploy perception components for next-generation self-driving systems.
The role requires strong ownership over critical components to understand, experiment, improve, and field state-of-the-art perception systems in real-time, safety-critical applications.
Candidates should have a mission-driven mindset focused on delivering a product, which involves significant cross-functional interaction and a customer-centric approach.
Responsibilities include identifying and developing next-generation perception architectures, producing coherent data representations of the environment through data fusion, and ensuring autonomy-wide alignment by working cross-functionally across perception, mapping, and decision-making.
The role also involves partnering with other teams to identify key requirements, dependencies, and prioritize use cases that support business outcomes, including leading data collection operations and ensuring end-to-end delivery of solutions.
Requirements:
A PhD or 5+ years of experience in perception-related fields such as Robotics, Computer Vision, or Machine Learning is required.
Candidates must have extensive experience in architecting, training, and deploying deep learning models in real-world environments.
A track record of driving applied research projects from conception to completion, including experimentation and productization, is essential.
Experience in delivering perception/tracking solutions for real-time robotic applications is necessary.
Excellent performance-oriented C++ engineering skills are required.
Candidates should have experience with automated driving and working with GPUs (CUDA).
Familiarity with deep learning pipelines is also required.
