The Senior Web API Engineer will lead the development of RESTful integration APIs that connect GoodLeap's platform to various partners and third-party developers.
This role involves designing scalable services, enhancing developer experience, and managing external system integrations.
Key responsibilities include designing and building secure, reliable, and scalable RESTful APIs, leading API-first development, architecting service boundaries, delivering robust authentication, and collaborating with stakeholders on API strategy.
Requirements:
Proficiency with Node.js and TypeScript in a production environment is required.
A deep understanding of RESTful API design, including resource modeling and HTTP semantics, is necessary.
Experience in building externally consumable APIs with a focus on usability, security, and stability is essential.
A strong foundation in OAuth2, API keys, and token-based authentication for service integration is required.
Preferred qualifications include proficiency with OpenAPI (Swagger) specifications and developer-facing documentation.
Experience with Kong API Gateway, including routing, rate limiting, and plugins, is preferred.
Deployment experience in AWS, particularly with Amazon ECS for containerized services, is advantageous.
Familiarity with performance optimization, caching strategies, and observability practices for APIs is preferred.
A passion for clean interface design and enhancing external developer experience is desired.
Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $146,000 to $170,000 per year.
This role may also be eligible for a bonus.
