We are seeking an experienced and autonomous Senior Web Developer to join our global, fully remote team.
Design Shopp has over 17 years of success in web design, digital marketing, branding, and creative services, focusing on quality, innovation, and collaboration.
The role involves collaborating with in-house designers and UI/UX specialists to structure and implement complex, responsive websites from custom designs made in Figma.
The Senior Web Developer will take ownership of code quality, conduct QA on team output, and maintain high development standards.
Responsibilities include working with custom PHP backends, advanced WordPress setups, and API integrations (Salesforce, HubSpot, and custom REST APIs) for dynamic data handling and CRM syncing.
The developer will guide other developers on architecture and technical decisions, offering insight during project scoping and quoting.
Attendance at client meetings as a technical lead may be required to help translate goals into actionable development strategies.
The role includes developing complex components of WordPress sites, such as custom themes, HTML templates, and Advanced Custom Fields (ACF), building dynamic landing pages, optimizing front-end performance, and implementing scalable, maintainable code structures.
Requirements:
Candidates must be able to work fully remotely and be available from 9 AM to 5 PM EST, Monday to Friday.
A hard requirement is that the candidate must be available and working remotely during these hours, regardless of their location.
A minimum of 5+ years of professional web development experience is required.
Advanced proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and WordPress (including custom themes, ACF, hooks, and custom post types) is necessary.
A strong understanding of technical SEO best practices, including semantic HTML, structured data, and site performance optimization, is essential.
Candidates must be able to implement SEO-rich code structures and ensure clean, indexable content while being familiar with web security standards.
Strong knowledge of version control (Git) and modern development workflows is required.
Proven experience in QA testing, performance optimization, and ensuring cross-browser/device compatibility is necessary.
The ability to independently manage and deliver complex, multi-layered web projects is essential.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are required, with comfort in working with cross-functional teams including designers, marketers, and clients.
