The role is for a Site Reliability Engineer III at Rackspace, with a fixed shift from 7 pm to 4 am IST, and it is a remote work-from-home position.
Rackspace is focusing on building its Professional Services Center of Excellence on Application Performance Monitoring Suites.
The engineer will solve complex business problems and contribute to building modern applications for customers, enhancing their understanding of the connections between application performance, user experience, and business outcomes.
Key responsibilities include working with customers to implement Observability solutions, building and maintaining scalable systems and robust automation, developing monitoring tools, alerts, and dashboards, and analyzing metric and log data for performance tuning and fault isolation.
The engineer will collaborate with development teams to deploy new features, document solutions, maintain a deep understanding of customer environments, and identify performance bottlenecks.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering/computer science or equivalent is required.
Candidates should have 7 to 14 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, and application support.
Senior-level experience with AWS Infrastructure design, implementation, and optimization is necessary.
Proficiency in observability tools like Splunk, Datadog, and SignalFx is required.
Experience in deploying and supporting software applications in the AWS ecosystem is essential.
A proactive approach to problem identification and solution is expected.
Candidates should have coding experience in interpreted languages such as Python, PHP, Perl, Ruby, or Linux Shell.
Familiarity with Terraform or Cloud Formation scripting is required.
Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is necessary.
Knowledge of software development best practices and tools, particularly Git, is required.
Experience in an agile software development environment is essential.
A good understanding of AWS pricing/cost models and network & system management solutions is necessary.
Excellent organizational, project management, communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills are required.
