  • Second Front Systems' Product team is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join the Observability team.
  • The role involves deploying, maintaining, and scaling observability infrastructure across multiple DoD networks.
  • Responsibilities include working with Kubernetes-based platforms, BigBang charts from DoD Platform One, and building automation for monitoring stack deployment.
  • The position requires collaboration to implement infrastructure that delivers unique capabilities for commercial and government customers, including the Department of Defense.
  • The Observability team is looking for a strong SRE with deep DevSecOps and Kubernetes experience, particularly in deploying and maintaining monitoring infrastructure at scale.
  • Experience with DoD software deployments, Platform One, and single-tenant architectures is highly valued.
  • The position requires U.S. citizenship due to government contract requirements.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have 5+ years of Site Reliability Engineering or DevOps experience.
  • Deep experience with Kubernetes administration, troubleshooting, and scaling is required.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and Mimir/Cortex is necessary.
  • A strong understanding of Helm charts, GitOps practices, and CNCF tooling is essential.
  • Experience with service mesh technologies, preferably Istio, is required.
  • Proven ability to debug complex distributed systems and networking issues is necessary.
  • Understanding of authentication systems and security in regulated environments is required.
  • Candidates must be able to work independently and collaborate with team members in a remote environment.
