As a Site Reliability Engineer on the Production Engineering Team, you will partner with engineering teams to automate and optimize service availability, scalability, performance, monitoring, and alerting.
You will educate and empower software engineers to think operationally when designing services and operate what they build.
Your responsibilities will include writing code to simplify DevOps tasks and allowing engineers to deploy and debug their own code in production.
You will build and maintain continuous integration pipelines and help application teams deploy high-quality products with increasing frequency.
Additionally, you will create and maintain methodologies for iteratively deploying Instructure’s cloud-based architecture and platforms.
You will also be responsible for building resilient and self-scaling systems to ensure team members can have restful nights.
Requirements:
A desire for ownership and a love for problem-solving are essential.
You should have experience managing a 24/7 SaaS with excellent uptime.
Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines and systems, such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions, is required.
You must have experience with at least one cloud platform, preferably Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Programming experience in at least one modern programming language, such as Ruby, Python, Java, or Go, is necessary.
Experience with containers (Docker) or container orchestration (Kubernetes) is required.
Exposure to configuration management, automation, and infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Ansible and Terraform, is expected.
You should be open, team-oriented, and possess a broad range of skills and interests.
Strong communication skills in both English and Hungarian are required.
