Remote Site Reliability Engineer, SaaS

Description:

• Veeam is seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to join the Veeam Data Cloud engineering team.
• The role involves working with a global team to build a modern data protection platform for Veeam.
• Responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions on Microsoft Azure and other cloud platforms.
• The engineer will automate deployments and maintain a resilient, secure, and efficient SaaS application platform.
• Upkeep and support of delivery and release pipelines are required.
• Continuous evaluation and improvement of system reliability, performance, and scalability are expected.
• Development of comprehensive monitoring and alerting solutions is part of the role.
• The engineer will respond to incidents for distributed applications in production environments and participate in on-call rotations.
• Proactive adherence to information security and compliance standards such as ISO, SOX, and SSAE is necessary.
• The role includes defining, documenting, and improving internal standards for style and maintainability.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in 24x7 production operations for a SaaS or cloud service provider.
• Experience with implementation and maintenance of infrastructure and application monitoring tools is required.
• Candidates should have experience managing Azure IaaS and PaaS solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in distributed, multi-tenant environments are essential.
• Experience with container orchestration and management platforms is necessary.
• Candidates must possess system programming skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash, Go, etc.
• Experience with CI/CD practices and tools, such as Azure DevOps, is required.
• Familiarity with distributed, event-based messaging architectures is necessary.
• Proficiency in English sufficient for communication with international teams is required.
