  • The Software Asset Management (SAM) Capability Lead role is open to remote candidates across Australia and New Zealand.
  • This position is part of the IT Platform Group, specifically within the Device & Software Management function.
  • The role involves designing, operating, and embedding SAM capabilities within the organization.
  • Responsibilities include building scalable processes, setting up tools for centralized visibility, and defining software classification.
  • Daily operations involve maintaining inventory data, running usage reviews, identifying cost opportunities, and supporting rationalization efforts.
  • The role also includes co-designing guides and onboarding materials for app owners and tech leads, piloting preferred tools, and ensuring SAM is perceived as helpful.
  • The position requires designing for scale with feedback loops and making participation easy for others.
  • Candidates should have a minimum of 5-8+ years of experience in software asset management, SaaS management tooling, tech cost optimization, procurement, or IT operations.
  • Foundational skills required include hands-on experience with SAM/SaaS platforms, understanding of SaaS license models, and strong communication skills.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 5-8+ years of experience in software asset management or SaaS management tooling.
  • Experience in tech cost optimization, procurement, IT operations, or IT governance is required, with a focus on building or evolving new capabilities.
  • Candidates should have experience in fast-paced, low-process environments and the ability to influence without authority.
  • Hands-on experience with SAM/SaaS platforms such as Zylo, Torii, Flexera, or ServiceNow SAM is essential.
  • A deep understanding of SaaS license models, usage metrics, and renewal planning is required.
  • A proven track record in establishing a capability or process from scratch is necessary.
  • Candidates must be comfortable working in ambiguous environments and have strong communication and collaboration skills across various stakeholders.
  • Bonus skills include experience in rationalizing tools, exposure to hyper-growth organizations, and familiarity with Application Portfolio Management.
