• As a Software Engineer - Accounting, you will be a founding member and help Central scale to serve thousands of companies and founders.
• You will architect mission-critical workflows by designing, building, and maintaining stateful, end-to-end systems that ensure data integrity and meet compliance and reliability requirements.
• The role involves iterating rapidly by shipping incremental, production-ready features in days, gathering user feedback, and refining solutions.
• You will own your domain as the technical product lead for core platform areas, setting standards for code quality, observability, testing, and operational excellence.
• You will partner with Product and Support to translate user pain points into clean, intuitive solutions that can scale from a single startup to enterprise.
• The position emphasizes leveraging AI to automate previously impossible tasks and create new user experiences.

Requirements:

• You must be an experienced systems architect with a background in designing and delivering large-scale, stateful architectures.
• A strong understanding of distributed-transaction patterns is required, including coordinating multi-step workflows across disparate services and third-party APIs.
• You should have deep expertise in building reconciled workflows with audit trails and automated recovery, particularly in financial or compliance-related operations.
• A reliability-first mindset is essential, with a focus on observability, fault tolerance, and graceful degradation from the start.
• You need to have a scalability and performance focus, understanding caching, queueing, and rate-limiting to handle rapid growth without sacrificing latency or correctness.
• Strong strategic thinking and communication skills are necessary to break down complex trade-offs and keep cross-functional stakeholders aligned.
• A bias toward action and high standards is important, as you will be expected to ship prototypes quickly and ensure production-ready quality in every release.
