Description:

• The position is for a Software Engineer, Automated Mosaics, at Planet, based in the United States.

• The engineer will own and evolve scheduling systems that prioritize production based on data availability and customer needs.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 4 years of experience in a related engineering or data science role is required.
• Strong proficiency in scientific Python programming is necessary.
• Familiarity with geospatial data and/or image processing methodologies is expected.
• Proven experience in deploying scalable software workloads in production environments is essential.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in asynchronous and remote-first settings, are required.
• Comfort with collaborative version control tools such as GitHub or GitLab is necessary.
• The ability to rapidly learn new tools and technologies as needed is important.
• Bonus qualifications include experience with satellite imagery, observability tools (logging/alerting), or technical project management.
