The position is for a Software Engineer, Automated Mosaics, at Planet, based in the United States.

The engineer will own and evolve scheduling systems that prioritize production based on data availability and customer needs.
Requirements:
A minimum of 4 years of experience in a related engineering or data science role is required.
Strong proficiency in scientific Python programming is necessary.
Familiarity with geospatial data and/or image processing methodologies is expected.
Proven experience in deploying scalable software workloads in production environments is essential.
Excellent communication skills, particularly in asynchronous and remote-first settings, are required.
Comfort with collaborative version control tools such as GitHub or GitLab is necessary.
The ability to rapidly learn new tools and technologies as needed is important.
Bonus qualifications include experience with satellite imagery, observability tools (logging/alerting), or technical project management.
