Bestgate Engineering is seeking Back-end software engineers with hybrid work options available from the Columbia, MD area.
The role involves building cutting-edge Java solutions by designing, coding, and testing microservices, RESTful APIs, and enterprise-grade capabilities using Spring, Guava, and other modern frameworks in an Agile environment.
Candidates will collaborate in a fast-paced, small-business team to architect, implement, troubleshoot, and deliver secure, high-quality software under multiple deadlines.
The position requires leveraging modern DevSecOps tooling such as Linux, Git, Maven, Nexus, and automated testing, within a culture that values curiosity, rapid learning, and rigorous QA.
The workstyle is hybrid, with an average of 1-2 days a week on-site in Columbia, MD, and flexibility for schedule changes; the remainder of the work is remote.
U.S. citizenship is required, and candidates must be able to obtain a Secret clearance and earn DoD 8140/8570 (Security+) within 60 days of hire.
The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of software engineering experience (or equivalent), strong OOP skills, enterprise API design, microservices architecture, and a proven ability to learn quickly and thrive both independently and in close-knit teams.
The salary range for this position is $125,000-175,000, which may vary based on the candidate’s skills, experience, and qualifications.
Requirements:
