Key responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining cloud-based services for IoT solutions, collaborating with engineers, implementing scalable architectures, optimizing services, developing APIs, ensuring data security, troubleshooting issues, mentoring junior engineers, and staying updated with industry trends.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 7+ years of experience in software engineering, focusing on cloud services and IoT.
Proficiency in cloud platforms such as Google Cloud (preferred), AWS, or Azure is necessary.
Strong programming skills in Java (required), Python, or Go are essential.
Experience with IoT protocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP) and edge computing is required.
Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is necessary.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (CI/CD, automation, monitoring) is required.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are essential.
Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are required.
This role is remote but available in California, Massachusetts, Georgia, and Utah, with a preference for candidates who can work onsite in Los Altos, CA several times per month.

Benefits:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is expected to be $200,000 - $245,000, with actual pay determined by various factors.
Afero offers competitive benefits and equity compensation in addition to the base salary.
