Description:
The role is for a Software Engineer specializing in Data at Chime, where data is essential to the company's success.
The Data Engineering team aims to build a scalable data platform and pipelines for various domains across Chime.
As a core team member, you will build scalable data computation systems used by all employees.
You will have the opportunity to architect and build workflows that may set industry standards in fintech.
Responsibilities include building, scaling, and optimizing self-serve ETL frameworks for batch processing and streaming.
You will own ETL workflows, ensuring the pipeline meets data quality and availability requirements.
Collaboration with other data engineering teams is expected to integrate schema registry and establish data lineage.
You will work closely with stakeholder teams such as Data Science, Product Engineering, and Analytics to address their data needs.
Joint ownership of data aspects including quality, governance, design, and security is required.
Mentoring and leading junior engineers to enhance their skills is also part of the role.
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in building and deploying production-quality data pipelines is required.
A solid understanding of key metrics for data pipelines and experience in building solutions for visibility to partner teams is necessary.
At least 2 years of experience using data warehouses like Snowflake, AWS Redshift, BigQuery, or Teradata is required.
Expertise in a commonly-used data programming language such as Python, Java, or SQL is essential.
Experience with Airflow, Terraform, and a Cloud Provider Stack (AWS, GCP, Azure) is needed.
A minimum of 2 years of experience with data streaming technologies like Spark, Flink, Storm, Kinesis, or Kafka is required.
A proven track record of successful partnerships with Analytics, Data Science, Security, DevOps, and Product Engineering teams is necessary.
Benefits:
The base salary for this role starts at $125,640.00 and can go up to $174,500.00, depending on location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
