Description:

• Wiser Solutions is seeking a Software Developer to join their Extraction Team.
• The role involves growing and maintaining a library of web crawling bots used by Fortune 500 brands and retailers.
• Responsibilities include producing creative solutions to complex problems and learning new skills.

• Daily tasks include writing clean, efficient, and thoroughly tested code, primarily in Python, but also in various languages and frameworks.
• The developer will maintain the platform that provides reports and visualizations to customers.
• Troubleshooting, testing, and maintaining the platform, bots, and databases to ensure optimization and functionality is required.
• The role involves evaluating technical trade-offs and building scalable solutions.
• The developer will also maintain and fix existing bot issues and create new bot technologies to enhance scalability.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have programming experience, with a Perl background being a plus.
• Proficiency in web scraping is required.
• Familiarity with regular expressions and web technologies such as HTTP, JSON, HTML, XPath, or JavaScript is necessary.
• Experience with databases, including SQL or NoSQL, is essential.
• Knowledge of REST services and API design is required.
• A passion for clean code and finding elegant solutions to problems is important.
• Candidates should be eager to expand their knowledge in web scraping and cloud-based technologies.
