Scaleway is seeking a Software Engineer for their Hardware Orchestration team to support the deployment of new Availability Zones and enhance capabilities on high-intensity projects such as HPC.
The mission involves designing, automating, and maintaining software tools that manage physical infrastructure to ensure smooth, resilient, and fully automated provisioning of bare metal platforms.
The team consists of 7 engineers focused on automating the provisioning of bare metal servers and collaborates closely with data center, network, and production teams.
Daily responsibilities include automating the provisioning of bare metal servers at scale, contributing to the deployment of new Availability Zones, collaborating with networking and hardware engineering teams, improving the resilience and performance of orchestration tools, documenting processes, and maintaining a reliable infrastructure foundation.
Requirements:
Candidates must demonstrate strong development skills in Python and/or Go.
Knowledge of DNS, NTP, DHCP, TFTP, HTTP(s), and Docker is required.
Experience with Linux systems such as Ubuntu, Debian, or RedHat is necessary.
Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Fluentd, ElasticSearch, and Kibana is essential.
Experience in infrastructure automation using Ansible, Vault, or similar secret managers is required.
Understanding of cloud-native architectures and provisioning systems is necessary.
Candidates should possess soft skills such as autonomy, adaptability, collaboration, result-oriented mindset, and a DevOps approach.
