The Identity & Auth team is responsible for identity and access management, authentication of requests to Mapbox APIs, and anti-fraud and abuse functionalities.

The role involves developing secure identity and access management solutions, driving anti-fraud initiatives, and building a future-proof platform.
Responsibilities include spearheading new feature development for account management, collaborating with various teams to understand authentication needs, designing scalable systems, promoting operational excellence, optimizing technical debt, documenting work, and fostering a collaborative culture.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of experience as a software engineer, specifically in identity and authorization technology, software security, and service abuse prevention.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for interfacing with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Familiarity with software security and big data is essential, along with the ability to collaborate with senior technical leaders.
A metrics and impact-driven mindset is necessary to translate customer needs into valuable product solutions.
Candidates should be self-starters, able to work autonomously and proactively in ambiguous situations.
Team players who enjoy collaboration and sharing expertise with diverse individuals are preferred.
Familiarity with Web Services, Microservices, Databases, Software Security, Authentication & Authorization, Anti-Fraud & Abuse, and Big Data is required.
Experience with the tech stack including Node.js, React, SQL, NoSQL, Docker, and AWS (ECS, CloudFormation, Lambda, DynamoDB, EMR) is a plus.

The annual base compensation for this role ranges from $190,825 to $258,175, with potential adjustments based on location and individual qualifications.
