The Software Engineer III, Payments position is part of the Payments Engineering Team, which focuses on enabling secure and compliant money transfers between customers and hackers.
This role primarily involves back-end development, with some front-end experience being beneficial.
The team will expand its domain ownership to maintain and develop other components of the HackerOne platform.
The position allows for remote work, with candidates preferred from Austin, TX or Washington DC, to facilitate occasional in-person interactions.
The first 30 days will involve onboarding and learning the technology stack, including Ruby on Rails, GraphQL, and ReactJS.
After 90 days, the engineer will be expected to understand the business value of products and translate feature requests into effective engineering solutions.
Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, contributing to team culture, and taking ownership of personal and professional growth.
Requirements:
A minimum of 4 years of experience in full-stack software engineering, particularly in a SAAS environment.
Proficiency in developing applications using Ruby on Rails and ReactJS.
A proven track record of delivering projects quickly, managing multiple dependencies across technical and non-technical teams.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Experience with payment systems, including bank transfers, PayPal, Stripe, and Bitcoin.
Preferred qualifications include expertise or interest in generative AI and ElasticSearch/OpenSearch.
