Brigit is seeking a Software Engineer - Platform to develop internal tools and systems that enable developers to work quickly, confidently, and autonomously.
This role is part of the Developer Experience (DevX) team and involves working on infrastructure, tooling, and developer workflows.
Responsibilities include enhancing CI/CD pipelines, maintaining local development cluster tooling, building internal developer tools, improving monitoring and observability standards, applying security best practices, streamlining release processes, and writing documentation.
The position is a generalist platform engineering role, suitable for someone who enjoys solving developer-facing problems across the stack.
The role allows for remote work 2-3 times per week and is based in Brigit’s New York office.
Requirements:
Candidates must have proven experience as a software engineer with a strong foundation in infrastructure, internal tooling, or platform engineering.
Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes and Docker is required.
Familiarity with CI/CD systems like CircleCI or GitHub Actions is necessary.
Experience deploying and operating services in cloud environments is essential, with GCP experience being a plus.
Proficiency in at least one backend programming language (e.g., Java) and comfort working across the stack is expected.
A track record of improving developer workflows through automation, tooling, or process improvements is important.
Understanding of security best practices, particularly around authentication, authorization, and access controls, is required.
Bonus points for exposure to technologies such as Postgres, Datadog, PagerDuty, or GraphQL.
