The position is remote across Australia and New Zealand, with the option to work from various campuses or co-working spaces.
You will be part of the Data Platform Group within the Infrastructure Super Group at Canva.
The Data Platform Group focuses on building a world-class data platform to enable significant, scalable, and sustainable value via data and insights.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing a declarative infrastructure management framework for Canva’s data platform, building automated governance for data workloads, and improving data access controls.
You will also contribute to the growth of data platform teams, enhance engineering practices, and engage with the data community to improve platform capabilities.
Requirements:
You must have 3-5+ years of commercial experience developing complex applications in Python.
Experience in architecture and design for modern MPP cloud-based data platforms, preferably with Snowflake and AWS.
You should have experience implementing data platform infrastructure resource management frameworks using Infrastructure as Code declaratively, such as Terraform.
A background in improving testing frameworks and strategies, including unit and integration testing, is required.
Prior experience in building and uplifting data governance capabilities is essential.
You must demonstrate extensive experience in developing clean, readable, and maintainable code.
A solid understanding of computer science and engineering fundamentals, including concurrency and data structures, is necessary.
Hands-on experience using AI in coding/programming to drive greater impact is required.
Nice to have: Prior experience in data processing using Analytical SQL.
