  • Edera is seeking a systems-minded Rust Infrastructure & Systems Software Engineer to help build the secure-by-default foundations of container infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and supply chain integrity.

  • You will work on foundational tooling that supports reproducible pipelines, trusted build artifacts, and container infrastructure that integrates with cutting-edge security technologies.
  • Key responsibilities include building and maintaining Rust-based infrastructure components that form the backbone of CI/CD, testing, and release systems.
  • You will design and implement secure build pipelines with verifiable provenance and champion test automation across layers.
  • The role involves contributing to container runtime and image builder tooling that interfaces with technologies like eBPF and Linux distros.
  • You will develop reusable and declarative test frameworks for validating infrastructure in real-world conditions.
  • The position requires embedding deeply with the systems team to ensure build, test, and release workflows are performant, reproducible, and secure by default.
  • Collaboration with Kubernetes, Rust, and Linux subsystems is essential to ensure compatibility across container orchestrators, kernel variants, and packaging formats.
  • You will solve high-priority issues swiftly and effectively while maintaining clear and empathetic communication with stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in systems, infrastructure, or platform engineering roles is required.
  • Fluency in Rust is essential, with a strong emphasis on correctness, reliability, and safe systems design.
  • Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Bazel, or similar is necessary.
  • A solid understanding of containers, Linux namespaces, rootless technologies, and image formats is required.
  • Familiarity with The Update Framework (TUF) or similar secure update and supply chain tooling is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing testable infrastructure and automating complex integration environments is necessary.
  • Bonus qualifications include experience with Kubernetes internals, build reproducibility, image signing/verification, or systemd/bootstrapping stacks.
