Remote Software Engineer, Trusted Computing and Cryptography

Description:

• The Trusted Computing and Cryptography team focuses on deploying high-performance cryptography at scale, key management, and trusted hardware enclaves.
• The role involves building and securing critical computing infrastructure with an emphasis on trusted computing and cryptography.
• This position may be remote within the US, with occasional travel to the San Francisco HQ or other offices, and follows a hybrid work model of three days in the office per week.
• Responsibilities include writing high-quality, performance-critical code in Rust and Python, integrating advanced cryptographic techniques, writing foundational libraries for cryptographic operations, designing secure key management systems, and implementing operating system-level security measures.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have extensive experience as a software engineer working on global-scale production systems.
• Experience in deploying cryptographic systems at scale and a strong understanding of production cryptographic key management is required.
• Familiarity with security primitives such as TPM2, Secure Boot, secure enclaves, and confidential computing platforms is necessary.
• Professional experience in programming with Python and proficiency in Rust and/or C/C++ is essential.
• Candidates should be able to own problems end-to-end and be willing to acquire any missing knowledge to complete tasks.
• Experience in architecting, observing, and debugging production distributed systems is required.
• A humble attitude, eagerness to help colleagues, and commitment to team success are important traits.
• Candidates should be self-directed and capable of identifying critical problems to address.
• Experience in rebuilding or significantly refactoring production systems for increased scale is preferred.
• A good intuition for when off-the-shelf solutions are appropriate and the ability to quickly build tools to enhance workflows is beneficial.
