Remote Software Engineer- Voice & Conversational AI

Description:

• We are hiring skilled engineers to help build our next-generation voice/text conversational AI application.
• You will work on projects critical to TrueLark’s growth, with opportunities to innovate and shape the future of voice-first AI systems.
• This role requires strong backend engineering expertise, hands-on experience with voice APIs, and the ability to design scalable, event-driven systems that integrate conversational AI, real-time voice, and robust APIs.
• This position will be hybrid (remote/in office in Bangalore, India).
• You will report to the CTO.

Requirements:

• You must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• You should have 3+ years of backend development experience with Python and Java.
• Strong expertise in API development (FastAPI preferred), webhook handling, and business logic orchestration is required.
• Proven experience with real-time voice/telephony APIs (e.g., Twilio), STT/TTS integration, and webhook workflows is necessary.
• You should possess solid knowledge of databases (SQL, schema design) and message queues.
• Proficiency in Data Structures, Algorithms, and OOP/SOLID principles is essential.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Git, and CI/CD pipelines is required.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure/GCP) for scalable deployments is necessary.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills are required.
• You must have the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
