Remote Software Engineer

• Responsibilities include writing clear, concise, elegant, and well-tested code in Python, Ruby, and/or JavaScript.
• Engineers work as part of a small, agile, integrated product team focused on continual skill improvement and mutual learning.
• There is an emphasis on learning new technical skills with the necessary tools or frameworks to execute tasks.

Requirements:

• A degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
• Professional experience with a combination of Python, Ruby, JavaScript, and/or other programming languages is necessary.
• Candidates should have an interest in working on technical projects from inception to delivery.
• Ability to operate and monitor highly available systems in production is required, or a willingness to learn quickly.
• Candidates must take pride in writing testable, modular, maintainable, simple, and well-documented code.
• Experience with web application and/or distributed systems development is essential.
• Comfort with using the terminal is expected.
• Strong written and oral communication skills are required.
• There is an occasional requirement to be on-call outside of standard hours.
