Olive Jar Digital is seeking a highly capable Solution Architect to support a key strategic initiative for a major client.
The role involves leading the technical discovery and architectural design for an identity and access management project.
The Solution Architect will ensure a clear understanding of the current environment and shape the vision for the future state.
Responsibilities include designing and documenting complex system architectures, ideally within identity and access management or related security domains.
The candidate must have strong knowledge of identity technologies and platforms, including cloud-native solutions such as AWS IAM, Microsoft Entra ID, Google Identity, and federated authentication models.
The role requires the ability to map out current-state systems, integrations, and data flows, producing clear and accurate technical documentation.
Experience working across multidisciplinary teams and translating technical details into language understood by non-technical stakeholders is essential.
The candidate should be skilled in identifying architectural pain points and functional gaps, developing solution options that balance technical integrity with business priorities.
A strong understanding of governance, security considerations, and risk management within system architecture is necessary.
The role involves facilitating technical workshops and discovery sessions, ensuring comprehensive input from relevant technical and business teams.
The Solution Architect must be able to develop future-state architectural models, including phased migration approaches, integration strategies, and interim tactical solutions.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, along with strong written and verbal communication skills, are required to produce high-quality artefacts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements:
Proven experience in designing and documenting complex system architectures, ideally within identity and access management or related security domains is required.
Previous experience working on large-scale discovery phases or technical transformation programmes is necessary.
Familiarity with government or public sector technical standards, including the Technology Code of Practice, is desirable but not essential.
Knowledge of architecture tooling, such as Ardoq or similar platforms, for creating and managing architecture artefacts is required.
Exposure to DevOps, SaaS environments, and cloud-native service management within AWS and Azure ecosystems is necessary.
Awareness of service design and user-centred approaches in technical solution development is preferred.
