The Solutions Architect position at Extreme Networks is crucial for supporting overall SaaS adoption by transforming technical aspects of SaaS solutions into clear business outcomes and value for stakeholders.
The role involves driving change both internally within the organization and externally for partners and customers on the journey to a subscription-based business model.
Responsibilities include providing technology and product consulting, technical sales support, performing high-level and in-depth technical presentations, and collaborating with local sales, product, and marketing teams to define go-to-market strategies for SaaS products.
The Solutions Architect will support sales teams with RFI/RFP responses, organize and lead Proof of Concept activities and demonstrations, and design complex solutions that meet a wide set of end-user requirements.
Requirements:
A strong, successful pre-sales engineering track record in the industry and territory in a similar position is necessary.
A sound knowledge of fundamental networking technologies, including Layer 2/3 switching, IPv4/v6 routing concepts, overlay networking, network fabrics, VPNs, Wi-Fi operation and design, and network security principles is required.
Knowledge and practical experience in Software as a Service business models, managed services, cloud technologies, network management, SP/WAN technologies, and AI/ML fundamentals are advantageous.
The candidate must have the ability to work as part of multiple project teams, set criteria for successful PoCs, and design overall solutions.
Tenacity and perseverance as a customer advocate, along with the ability to build and maintain a network of trusted advisors at the customer/partner side, are essential.
Major account experience and experience in closing deals are necessary.
Extreme Networks certifications are desirable, but not mandatory, and recognized industry certifications are a plus.
The candidate should demonstrate knowledge of future trends and market directions and support customer evaluations and detailed design requirements.
