The Solutions Engineer will serve as the technical lynchpin throughout the sales cycle, providing pre-sales and account technical leadership.
This role involves working closely with Public Sector prospects and customers to educate, empower, and ensure their success on the Cloudflare platform.
The Solutions Engineer will utilize their technical expertise in Cloudflare’s global distributed network to find best-fit solutions, train and onboard new customers, create documentation, and support long-term technology strategies.
Strong technical knowledge of on-premise security, networking implementations, and public cloud initiatives is required.
The role requires collaboration with various teams at Cloudflare, including Sales, Product, Engineering, and Customer Support.
Solutions Engineers will drive technical discussions, qualify prospect use cases, lead demonstrations, and provide strategic guidance to existing customers.
The position may require 30-40% travel for meetings, conferences, and collaboration with teammates, although most engagement will be remote.
Requirements:
Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of internet technologies, including OSI Model layers, Routing TCP/UDP, DNS, HTTP(S), and SSL/TLS.
Comfort with on-premise infrastructure and networking configurations is essential, including familiarity with legacy systems.
A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing sales or consulting role is required, though it does not have to be in technology.
Candidates should possess technical curiosity and a passion for staying updated on Cloudflare’s products and industry trends.
A focus on learning, teaching, collaboration, mentorship, and personal growth is important.
Strong project management, relationship-building skills, and emotional intelligence (EQ) are highly valued.
